On this first day of the 2006 session of the Viginia General Assembly
the Sorensen Institute would like to recoginze our 12 alumni who will
be serving in the House of Delegates. We want to thank each of them for
their service to Virginia and for their dedication to the
principles of ethics and cooperation which are at the heart of the
Sorensen mission.

The Sorensen Institute is proud to announce the members of the Class
of 2006 Political Leaders Program. The class will begin its 10-month
term in March. Competition this year was particularly rigorous. We had
over 80 outstanding applications from around the Commonwealth for only
37 spots. Each of these students is indeed an emerging leader in their
communities and will do great things for Virginia. The staff and Board
of the Sorensen Institute is looking forward to working with them.
